Originally designed in 1967 as a homage to her second husband, the Fauteuil Cognac is Laverrière's very last furniture design. Shortly before her death in 2011, she redesigned it exclusively for an exhibition in 2014 at the Berlin art gallery Silberkuppe. The imposing armchair is made of solid oak wood and designed with extra wide arm rests, offering space to place books and drinks on the side instead of an additional side table. The solid design is stable and comfortable, yet seems light because of its open and airy construction. The wooden skids underneath seem to float the chair above the ground.
Upholstered with suede and smooth leather, the Fauteuil Cognac is available in two different color combinations, one in bright turquoise with vibrant orange, and the other one in deep dark blue with luminous red.
